Althrough the heart of Long Island Wine Country is the North Fork, the Hamptons boasts a few vineyards and wineries that are easy to reach from a Hamptons resort location. The climate in the Hamptons tends to favor white wine grapes, which go wonderfully with the lighter fare and seafood typically enjoyed during the summer season, but you will find delicious reds as well. Look for paint and sip parties, live music and other activities to fill a day that is not spent at the beach.
Scuttle Hole Road Bridgehampton
This artisanal vineyard is a must-try for the oenophile. Found in the midst of the Hamptons farm country, sample unique wines, and gorgeous farmviews at their winery. Check the event calendar for wine tasting classes so you can have your Hamptons vacation coincide with a class that piques your interest.
Plan a visit if only for the famous rose produced here, called "Summer in a Bottle," by its fans. This is the most elegant of the wineries found in the Hamptons, with a lavish Tuscan style tasting room that overlooks the gorgeous rolling fields of grapes.
Duck Walk Vineyards
Montauk Highway, Water Mill
This is the first winery you will find as you travel east on Montauk Highway through the Hamptons. Duck Walk South is part of the Pindar Vineyards family of wineries and vineyards, but offer different varietals than the flagship. Easy to reach and right across the street from Hanks Farmstand – very popular during pumpkin season, but a great stop for farm fresh produce any time.
Wolffer Wine Stand
Enjoy the fabulous Wolffer Wines in a casual atmosphere with stunning views of the vineyard and gorgeous Hamptons sunsets over the farm. Easy to reach directly on Montauk Highway in Sagaponack, it's a popular pitstop to pick up wine on your way through.
