Exploring the HamptonsLaunch your exploration of Long Island's East End from Bayview Resort, in the heart of the Hamptons.
A Hamptons vacation is a seaside lover's dream, and there is so much to do and explore! Shop the boutiques and antiques shops, relax at a local day spa, frolic on the sugar sand ocean beaches, and enjoy a delicious meal at a local seaside restaurant and take in the view.
The Hamptons is a collection of villages and hamlets that stretches 50 miles along the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. It is not possible to truly discover and enjoy any of these communities in a single day, so you would be wise to select one or two that strike your fancy and give it your all.
Geographically, the Hamptons encompass Long Island's South Fork from Eastport on the west to Montauk on the east, but the communities that comprise them have distinct personalities. In general the hamlets and villages located west of the Shinnecock Canal have a more hip, working class party vibe, and those on the east side of the canal are considered to be more posh and refined (think Old Money). Montauk, affectionately called "The End" has generated a new hipster vibe in recent years, making it hard to define and so easy to love.
